I've been gone way too long and am trying to get back into writing on my blog (imposter syndrome is a bitch), especially now that things are starting to get cold here in California with that weird January fire season finally behind us. But I absolutely loved reading this list and relate to SO MUCH of what you said, like this is how I'm trying to spend my winter too. Literally trying to be out here reading, cooking, writing, and playing around with new hobbies (I've gotten into film photography). Anyway, I just want to say that being able to come back and read your blog not only makes me SO HAPPY, it reminds me why I love writing, which sounds so cheesy but it's true🫶🏻 loved this!
omg Summer i'm so happy you're back! i was wondering where you went lol. i have been going through the same thing with imposter syndrome (when am i not tbh lol). the film photography sounds great! i have a film camera but developing is so expensive so i haven't touched it in almost a year lol. how's that going? thank you so much for reading always xx
so real. the imposter syndrome is an ongoing battle, I fear. but I'm excited to try and keep up with my writing again! I toooottaallly know what you mean tho. I'm finding developing and buying the film has made it a bit of an expensive hobby... but I do really like it! I'm still learning all the settings but it's so so fun. I took some pics at my brother's wedding and🥹 they came out so cute, I'll have to share some on Insta some time. but I love being able to come back and read your posts!🫶🏻
i remember seeing some of the pics on your story and thinking they were cute, you should definitely post more! what film camera do you have? i just have a point-and-shoot 35 mm so it's really easy and fun, i just hate buying the film, paying to develop it, and paying the shipping fees :') i also load the film wrong half the time or it becomes dislodged or something in the middle of a roll, so i currently have 3 undeveloped rolls sitting in my drawer and one of them only has 8 exposures bc i somehow fucked the whole roll up lolololol
awww thank you! those were actually just taken on my phone cuz I was being lazy about going to get the film developed lolol. but omg yeah having to pay for shipping definitely makes it more of a hassle. I'm lucky that the place I go to does digital prints BUT it's really far out of the way from my house, so it's always a whole thing to get them developed.
I have a 35mm pentax k1000 tho! it was my dads (and my grandpa's before he gave it to my dad) from like probs the 70s or 80s? and I also have my mom's old olympus, but I haven't tested that one yet. the pentax is all manual too and cuz its so old some of the functions aren't working quite as well.
omg yes! I messed up like more than half my first roll🙃 and then unfortunately I overexposed a lot of the pics from the wedding, but I think it just made them look kinda vintage and moody :) but I wish I could afford the better quality film!😭
Omg I bet the vintage cameras are good quality! The 35mm one I have is new so it’s just a bunch of plastic and I’m always scared of it breaking lol. I’ve seen all the film girlies use Olympus so I hope that one works for you!
I was briefly excited when I heard about the Sims 1&2 rerelease but it’s for windows only and I’m a Mac girl 😭 I hear it’s super glitchy though, no surprise there from EA lol. Paralives is an upcoming life simulation game that’s being developed by an indie developer and it looks super promising! I’d google articles and YouTube videos about it.

Agree with so much of this! I love baths and am also so sad about sims 4 being such a flop - what is paralives?? I’m excited for a better alternative!
